The infrastructure of the area is well developed with an international airport just 30 minutes drive from Bodrum town providing flights through the year. Transport in the form of local buses around the resorts run 24 hours a day in summer and a slightly more restricted service in winter. Taxis are numerous and well priced; There are plenty of banks, modern supermarkets and a new Tesco hypermarket. Internet access is easily available and wireless connections are often built in to new properties. A new 18-hole golf course located in the Tuzla area with housing and a wide range of facilities is being built for summer 2007.
Charters on every kind of craft from sleek yachts to traditional wooden gulets for a day or longer are easy to arrange and inexpensive. The beaches in the area are maintained to a high standard, 22 of which have achieved the international Blue Flag standard and many more are working towards it. The north coast of the peninsula has cooling summer breezes and is very popular with windsurfers and water sports lovers. Add to this a minimum of 250 days per year sunshine for the perfect holiday spot. Finally, Bodrum is fast becoming a sophisticated year round resort which caters for every kind of visitor, from those interested in archaeology, to windsurfers and serious shoppers. The nightlife ranges from mellow evenings by the sea listening to jazz or traditional Turkish music to top European nightclubs with hip Dj’s in exciting nightclubs.
Buying a holiday home in Bodrum is a valuable investment. The property market here is developing at a rapid pace. The quality of new projects is constantly improving and standards in Property Development are improving all the time. Property prices on the Bodrum peninsula have increased by 25% on average over the past year and are still rising.
